Mitchy Slick takes a walk down memory lane with Gully TV to discuss the dope boys’ affinity for FILA shoes in the late 80s.

At the time, he says, the sneakers were made in Italy, so FILA was a highly coveted brand, along with a number of others. If you had those on in 1987 it showed that you had paper and were about your money. And most of these people, according to Slick, happened to be involved in the drug trade.

“FILA’s were so special, homie, and meant a lot to the era,” he says, “they bring back memories.”
