Newark, OH — Police in a central Ohio county are auctioning off a variety of collectible shoes confiscated from a convicted drug dealer.
According to the Columbus Dispatch, there are a total of 67 boxes of seized footwear being sold by officials in Licking County. The website GovDeals.com is accepting bids through Sept. 15. Proceeds will go towards funding drug related investigations by the Licking County task force that discovered the sneakers.
The name-brand shoes vary in size, ranging from 10 to 12.
The Newark man, age 48, who bought the shoes was sentenced to 11 years in prison last month after he was found guilty of having more than half a pound of cocaine and 100 pills containing the life-threatening opioid fentanyl in his possession.
At this time he’s incarcerated in Orient while authorities decide where he’ll end up serving his sentence.
