Every year scouts and football enthusiasts keep an eye out for the next wave of promising young athletes. And Micah Bowens is at the top of the list, being the #1 ranked 15-year-old quarterback in the country. In 2012 he led his team to a state championship victory. In 2014 he and his team won two national titles. Last year, as an 8th grader, Bowens became a Pac-12 prospect. All strong signs that he is well on his way to the big leagues.
Bowens just rounded out his first season on Bishop Gorman JV with 21 touchdowns (passing and rushing) and no interceptions. With statistics like that it’s no surprise many refer to him as a dual-threat QB. His impressive season also earned him a spot in the FBU Freshman All-American Bowl in January.
Off the field, Bowens has made an effort to serve his community. This past Thanksgiving, he and his family made the decision to donate their leftovers to the homeless. With such a high level of commitment to football and his studies, the future for this young man is looking very bright.
