Charlotte, North Carolina artist Three was last rapper standing on BET’s One Shot reality Hip-Hop competition show. Sway Calloway served as the host while Mike Smith, King Tech and King Crooked were the judges as the show hit four cities (Charlotte, Atlanta, Miami and Chicago) in search of the country’s best undiscovered rap talent.

Three already caught a pair record deals, but he admits things didn’t go to plan.

“I’ve had two major deals that unfortunately I got dropped from both of those deals,” Three told Hip-Hop Wired. “It just wasn’t my time, business wasn’t done correctly. I was 18 with the first deal, 21 with the second. I’m 30-years-old now so that’s a big stretch to get my shot.”

Three was chosen out of thousands of entries and after three grueling rounds came out with a $100,000 cash prize and a record deal with SMH Entertainment.

Despite a while come up (he survived being shot six times), the Charlotte rapper is humble and prepped to prove the third time will be the charm.

See what else Three had to say in our exclusive interview below.
