Reports of an active shooter situation at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino where the Route 91 Festival is being held began rapidly spreading on social media late Sunday night.
Police are now investigating at the scene and have asked everyone to avoid the area.
Witnesses say there are multiple victims, and according to police scanner reports, one officer may have been shot. Several streets in the surrounding area were being blocked off and police were telling people in the vicinity to barricade themselves inside.

At least two people are dead and 24 were hospitalized with suspected gunshot wounds, according to Reuters.
